Ákos Bokody

Painter

My name is Ákos Bokody, I was born in 1997 in Székesfehérvár, and I currently live and work in Budapest. I am a student of painting at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. My artistic activity is wide-ranging, including paintings, graphics, animations and video works. In the beginning, my art was inspired by street art, especially the graffiti subculture, and experimental, electronic music trends. The teachings of the traditional school of René Guenon play a major role in my creative process. The main theme of my works is the experience of catharsis induced by emotional and mental release. In making my work, I experiment with different materials and media frameworks. One of the main technical challenges of the creative process, for me, is to combine traditional painting techniques with morphology inspired by graffiti and to strike a balance between capturing more concrete realities and expression. My aim is to express and portray emotions through my work that are universal, that is to say, able to have an impact on the viewer regardless of age, gender or origin.
