Painter
A frequent organising principle of my paintings is the use of contrasting moods and concepts, the search for non-human perspectives, and the thematisation of the human figure's relationship to its environment. Along these lines, I am interested in the tension between the profane and the mythical, the flatness of digitality and classical ways of spatial representation, painterly abstraction and meticulous drawing. The human figure in my paintings is mostly depicted faceless, without personality traits, thus both a participant in the pictorial space and the creator of its entry point. They merge into disjointed spaces, take part in mythical journeys as a video game character, encounter supernatural beings, look at the cross-section of the grasses on the field, view the depths of space with a telescope and see the landscape as a map of itself.
