pendrawing, line

Description:

The drawing examines the paradoxical relationship between temporal process and fixed state: how the temporality of movement can become visible structure, and how the surface of the paper can retain the memory of gestures layered upon one another. The drawing is both topography and imprint. Topography, as it maps internal lines of force; imprint, as the rhythm of bodily presence is directly inscribed into the material. The line here is an autonomous entity: a self-organizing, organic system balancing at the boundary between order and chaos. The work was created as a sketch for the Textura Temporaris et Statii project, in which the creative process appears, while at the same time it functions as an autonomous pictorial field in which time is transformed not narratively, but as structure — as density.
