My painting focuses on the visual representation of the interpenetration of the unconscious and the conscious, which manifests itself in the connection between abstract and composed layers. My paintings are visual declarations of my inner world. The starting point is the abstract surface, on which I create the composition from a mixture of real and dreamlike images, locations, and scenes. The intense colors further distance my paintings from any kind of realistic representation. Strange effects appear at the intersection of the abstract and the composed layers: alongside the material-like paint drips and smudges, illusions and elements of reality pile up in the viewer's subjective perception, similar to the inexplicable organizing principles of human life.
