Fanni Debreczeni
Painter, art-teacher
The background of my paintings is the intense experience and use of the given landscape experience, with the aim of creating an ordered inner world. The pictorial motifs are based on the transubstantiation of the seen reality and in this reductive process they condense into symbols. In the process of working, I try to strip real locations of all unnecessary details in order to capture the essence of the phenomenon and raise it to a higher level of existence through the intensity of the moment. The mythical landscape sensations created in this way indirectly carry universal contents that evoke ancient topos. Frequent motifs in my paintings include trees, rivers, the Garden of Eden, the highland landscape, the peaks of the mountains, and the world of the Elysian Fields.
