Anna Szvák has been living in The Hague for 7 years, where in 2020, she launched her own ceramic studio called Szvaka Studio.

Previously, she completed her studies in cultural anthropology and literature and studied documentary filmmaking and interior design. For the past 11 years, the primary medium of her creative work has been clay.

"I feel that I don’t use the clay, we work together.

As I shape it, it shapes me.

I think we are a good influence on each other."

She has been involved in ceramics since her childhood and has further developed her skills in various institutions, including the training school for the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and the 'De VAK' art centre in Delft. In addition to ceramics, she also draws, paints, and illustrates. She finished the Orientation Course at the Royal Academy of Art (Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten).

Her main focus of interest is observing societal patterns, with a particular emphasis on changes in women's roles and the transformations of the female body, not only from an aesthetic standpoint but also from a socio-cultural perspective. She researches how we use our bodies as tools for social interaction, self-expression, and achieving an external-internal balance.
