Description:

The gesture of transformation - the reorganization of old papers into a new composition - carries an ethical dimension as well. In these works, time does not manifest as a linear narrative but rather in the form of accumulating, translucent, or overlapping layers. This concept resonates with Gilles Deleuze’s notion of the crystal-image of time, where the planes of past and present enfold into one another. The gestures of pasting, layering, covering, and revealing serve as an analogy for the mechanics of memory: remembering is always a construction, a rearrangement, and a selective highlighting. The dynamics of the series - the subtle shifts between individual pieces - can be read as a temporal process. The viewer’s movement through space constitutes a performative act: interpretation is not a given but emerges through motion and attention. The decision - acceptance, rejection, possession - is an integral part of the artwork’s concept; thus, the viewer is not an external observer but an active agent in the construction of meaning. In a broader context, the project can also be interpreted as an investigation into aesthetic value systems. For me, art is not representation but a mode of cognition. The concept of the installation - stipulating that the collages can only be hung on a wall where a nail already existed - is a radical site-specific decision. The 100 collages featured in the exhibition are a donation from the artist to the gallery.
