Description:

In my piece titled *"Not a Rosé Spritzer"*, I explored the aspects of the rose’s symbolism that I find particularly intriguing. One such theme was the rose as an attribute of Venus. Most people know her from Botticelli’s famous painting – Venus, the ancient goddess of rebirth, birth, and creation. For centuries, the white rose was her flower, one that society was still able to comprehend and interpret. Today, however, the meaning of the rose is no longer part of our collective knowledge. Its original, transcendent symbolism has almost completely vanished, and it mostly appears as a decorative element for Valentine’s Day – in a much-simplified and hollowed-out form.
