Stairs 0 is the foundation of my entire Stairs series, originating from a random, chance-based assignment during my university years. When I first created it, I did not know there would be a continuation; it remained untitled for a long time and was only named Stairs 0 after the subsequent pieces were born. Recently, I returned to this early motif to recreate it on a larger canvas.
In Stairs 0, the steps lie completely flat on the ground, arranged one behind the other in a strict, one-point perspective. Instead of depicting a steep ascent, it visualizes a clear metaphor: while some must face impossible heights and heavy obstacles in life, a smooth path lies ahead for others. Through this clean approach, the geometric order and subtle shading prompt the viewer toward contemplation and patience.
